Kevin Champeny’98, who studied studio art at Beloit, is a New York-based artist and sculptor who creates the small works of art (see close-up, left) that become components of his large-scale mosaics. Champeny stands next to his latest mosaic, a tribute piece to Jerry Garcia. “Touch of Grey” is made from 25,000 sculpted and hand-cast urethane pieces of imagery from the life of Garcia and his band The Grateful Dead.
