The poet Kevin Young presented a public reading of his work in Moore Lounge in April. Young held the 2013 Lois and Willard Mackey Chair in Creative Writing during the program’s 25th year. He is the author of seven books of poetry, including Ardency: A Chronicle of the Amistad Rebels, and seven other collections—among them the acclaimed Grey Album: On the Blackness of Blackness (2012), a New York Times Notable Book and winner of the Graywolf Press Nonfiction Prize.
