Thomas J. Erickson’s book of poetry delves unapologetically into life as a lawyer, examining the ups and downs that frequent the work Erickson himself practices.
Presented as a chapbook (22 poems in all), the opening poem—from which the book derives its title—sets the tone for the other poems centered on lawyers and their daily duties, including the work of defending indigent clients.
After majoring in English literature at Beloit, Erickson received his law degree from Marquette University. He practices law in Milwaukee and is a member of the Hartford Avenue Poets.
