Commencement marks a new beginning, but in some cases, outstanding graduates will try on new challenges in a familiar place: through an Honors Term at Beloit.

Each year, Beloit awards a limited number of Honors Term Scholar Awards and Honors Term Service Awards to graduating seniors who want to continue their studies at Beloit College for an additional term.

To be considered, students need a strong academic and co-curricular record, a willing sponsor, and a convincing proposal that makes the case to the Academic Performance Committee that they have the background to succeed. The Committee favors projects that combine scholarship and service. Successful Honors Term Scholars enroll in a special course, which is tuition-free. At the end of the term, students are required to file a final report with the dean of the college.

For the fall of 2015, 13 graduates will be completing the honors terms listed below. All are members of the class of 2015.
